Mexican drug cartels now control parts of Arizona

An area known as the smuggling corridor now stretches from Mexico's border to metro Phoenix. The area, once an area for family hiking and off road vehicles has government signs warning residents of the drug and human smugglers. Night vision cameras have photographed military armed cartel members delivering drugs to vehicles along Highway 8. Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu said he no longer has control over parts of his county. 'We are outgunned, we are out manned and we don't have the resources here locally to fight this,' he said at a Friday news conference. Babeu said he doesn't believe the drug cartel problems will not be solved when SB 1070 becomes a law, or with President Obama's promise of 1,200 troops spread out among four border states. 'It will fall short. What is truly needed in 3,000 soldiers for Arizona alone,' Babeu said.

For those of you who have been following Deer Crushers blog. I want to inform you that it is now finally closed until further notice. Which to me means he's gone for good!!!! Part 3: BP will set aside $20 billion to pay the victims of the massive oil spill in the Gulf

BP will set aside $20 billion to pay the victims of the massive oil spill in the Gulf. BP is acting under heavy White House pressure in dealing with the worst environmental disaster in U.S. history. The $20 billion is not a cap - if legitimate claims outstrip that amount, then BP will required to pay more. The eight-week disaster in the Gulf, with tens of thousands of gallons of oil still pouring from the broken well daily, is jeopardizing the environment as well as the livelihoods of tens of thousands of people across the coastal areas of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida. Those affected range from fishermen to restaurateurs to oil rig workers idled by Obama's temporary halt to new deep-sea oil drilling.

At $20 billion, the size of the fund is the same that was recommended by congressional Democrats. The meeting came the morning after Obama vowed in a TV address that "we will make BP pay for the damage their company has caused. Obama's forceful tone about BP's behavior shows how far matters have deteriorated.

Part 2: President Obama's Oval Office Address on BP Oil Spill & Energy

Here a few few excerpts from President Obamas speech last night:

Good evening. As we speak, our nation faces a multitude of challenges. On April 20th, an explosion ripped through BP Deepwater Horizon drilling rig, about 40 miles off the coast of Louisiana. Eleven workers lost their lives. Seventeen others were injured. And soon, nearly a mile beneath the surface of the ocean, oil began spewing into the water.

Because there has never been a leak this size at this depth, stopping it has tested the limits of human technology. That’s why just after the rig sank, I assembled a team of our nation’s best scientists and engineers to tackle this challenge -- a team led by Dr. Steven Chu, a Nobel Prize-winning physicist and our nation’s Secretary of Energy.

As a result of these efforts, we’ve directed BP to mobilize additional equipment and technology. And in the coming weeks and days, these efforts should capture up to 90 percent of the oil leaking out of the well. This is until the company finishes drilling a relief well later in the summer that’s expected to stop the leak completely.

Already, this oil spill is the worst environmental disaster America has ever faced. The millions of gallons of oil that have spilled into the Gulf of Mexico are more like an epidemic, one that we will be fighting for months and even years. We will fight this spill with everything we’ve got for as long as it takes. We will make BP pay for the damage their company has caused. And we will do whatever’s necessary to help the Gulf Coast and its people recover from this tragedy.

The oil spill is not the last crisis America will face. This nation has known hard times before and we will surely know them again. What sees us through -– what has always seen us through –- is our strength, our resilience, and our unyielding faith that something better awaits us if we summon the courage to reach for it.

Obama Plans to Force BP’s Hand on Oil Spill Fund

PRESIDENT Obama to Address Nation Tuesday Night on Gulf Oil Spill

President Obama will address the nation Tuesday night to talk about the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. The 8 p.m. ET speech will take place from the White House shortly after the president returns from a trip to the Gulf.

President Obama on Monday and Tuesday will make his fourth trip to the Gulf coast since the disaster struck on April 20. It will be his first overnight visit and, after three trips to Louisiana, his first to the states to its east — Mississippi, Alabama and Florida — which are in the direction of the spewing oil’s drift. The president will return to Washington in time to report to the nation on Tuesday night.

A brief outline of his plans is to legally force BP executives to create an escrow account reserving billions of dollars to compensate businesses and individuals if the company does not do so on its own. Administration officials say that President Obama, in his speech from the White House on Tuesday, will not only discuss the issue of claims against BP but also update the nation on efforts to capture and contain the oil, and on his proposals to reorganize the federal system for regulating offshore oil drilling.

My personal rants and observations

Good morning everyone going to put a twist on things today with some of my personal rants and observations

The Companies That Destroyed America

BP. Goldman Sachs. Countrywide. Lehman Brothers. And yes, the Republican Corporate Whore Asshole Party. You crashed our economy. You polluted our shores. You ruined millions of lives. You brought the country to ruin. And yet, you're still out there. Lurking, waiting in the wings, ready to do even more damage, plotting how you can con the fools.

What happened when you put the country in the hand so of repulicans for the past 8 years
Economic collapse - check. Illegal and immoral war, designed for war-profiteers like Cheney's Halliburton - check. The biggest environmental disaster in US history - check. Enrichment of Wall Street traders and the ultra-rich - check.

Message to Deer Crusher
You love Republicans. You say you love the Constitution. You love personal liberties. You love limited government. And you supported George W. Bush, the most anti-Constitution, anti personal liberty, big-government president in the past 100 years. Oh, don't we love blaming others and making comments without knowing all the facts.

Public Service Announcement

Hello all, wanted to make a public service announcment today which affects all of us.

Know one likes getting a speeding ticket but it's bound to happen. Cities with budget short falls need to raise revenue somehow and to do it, they're having their police forces issue more tickets. Well first of all, you can't avoid a speed trap they're out there, alright? There's only so many places that a land-bound enforcer can hide - think like your opponent, let your situational awareness be your front-line driving tool, and not only will you minimize the chances of getting a speeding ticket, but you'll also, first and foremost, become a safer driver overall.

I do not condone excessive speeding and the bottom line is: We are each responsible for our OWN actions! If you break the law, it isn't the officer's fault, it's YOURS!

Do you know where the speed traps are in your hometown? Check out the link below, pretty self explanatory. Everyone have a safe day!

(Click on whatever state /Province
you want and then it will show the city or towns you
want to view, click on which one you want to view).

Illegal Immigrants in America

How many more of these illegal immigrants are coming into the United States each year? Once again, it depends on who you ask but a ballpark figure is about half a million. Half a million illegal immigrants coming into the United States every year! That’s well over 41,000 arriving every single month! Or about 1400 every day! So who are these masses of people who illegally invade our country every day? Where do they come from? According to the US Census Bureau, the largest group is from Central America, almost 37%, Mexico being the largest contributor there. The next largest group is from the Caribbean with about 10%. Asia contributes a full 25% of the total with South America, Europe and other regions making up the rest.

There are those who say that immigration, illegal or otherwise, is a good thing for America. The proponents of immigration maintain that immigrants actually help the American economy by working diligently and filling low-wage positions that many others find undesirable. They state that the average American citizen benefits from a healthier economy and lower prices on goods and services due to the influx of cheap labor. Then there are those who say that illegal immigration is detrimental to America’s economy, society, and standard of living. The critics state that illegal immigrants take low-skilled jobs away from American citizens. Some also contend that the average wages of Americans without a high school degree have fallen because of competition with newly arrived immigrants, who frequently work for less money.

There are those who feel that immigration is a good thing and, of course, there are those who think it’s hurting America.

WARNING FROM BLOG LEADER

To the Troll that has been emailing me from Deer Crushers blog. I know who you are and I have you marked as spam. You are blocked and changing email addresses isn't going to help!!!

This blog WILL BE kept respectful or you will be permanently banned. I'd like to inform everyone from Deer Crushers blog that I gave Deer Crusher a chance but he blew it the first day. He along with his type are NOT welcome here and you will be barred!! I will not tolerate hatred and racist individuals. So lets keep it clean folks!

THE REPUBLICAN PARTY IS DEAD!!!!

Republicans back in the day were good people. They were just traditionalists who honestly cared for this country. However, the GOP has been hijacked, no more like raped and hostally taken over by religious fundamentalists who care nothing for this country and only care about themselves and their moronic and fanatical ideologies. Republicans have been on the wrong side of every issue of concern to ordinary Americans; Social Security, the war in Vietnam, equal rights, civil liberties, church- state separation, consumer issues, public education, reproductive freedom, national health care, labor issues, gun policy, campaign-finance reform, the environment and tax fairness. No political party could remain so consistently wrong by accident. The only rational conclusion is that, despite their cynical "family values" propaganda, the Republican Party is a criminal conspiracy to betray the interests of the American people in favor of plutocratic and corporate interests, and absolutist religious groups.

Obama unveils new vision for Nasa spaceflight

President Obama declared he is "100 percent committed to the mission of NASA and its future" as he outlined plans for federal spending to bring more private companies into space exploration. America has never had a space policy more visionary or more friendly to private enterprise. Everyone must be aware that the shutdown of the space-shuttle program, with nothing to replace it immediately, was a Bush administration policy laid down more than six years ago. President Obama's new plan gives us redundant capabilities to get people to orbit, and competition among the multiple providers will drive down prices not just for NASA but for everyone. We want to leap into the future, not continue on the same path as before, Obama said. The plan includes an extra 6 billion for Nasa over five years; $3.1 billion for "vigorous new technology development" that could result in a pioneering heavy-lift rocket to take astronauts to Mars. I think he sees NASA as a problem he inherited from George W. Bush, and in that, he is right for once. What we're looking for is not to continue on the same path, but to leap into the future. Remember that when government does the right thing, it doesn’t matter whether it’s done for the wrong reason. Whatever the motivations behind it, this is a much more visionary space policy than we’ve ever had before. President Barack Obama is strongly committed to our future in space."

Obama Agenda:

President Obama persuaded 46 countries to sign on to a plan to put the world's nuclear material beyond the reach of terrorists within four years. The governments attending Obama's Nuclear Security Summit agreed to take their own measures to safeguard nuclear material used in bombs, civilian nuclear reactors and power plants, and to strengthen international efforts. After 15 months addressing the vexing matters he inherited, Mr. Obama is now aggressively advancing his own vision of foreign policy and defining himself more clearly on the world stage. President Obama represents a chance to assert proactive leadership rather than simply showing that he is not George W. Bush.

According to Harvard's Belfer Center, there are about 3.5 million pounds of highly enriched uranium and half a million pounds of bomb-grade plutonium in the world. Combined, they could be used to build as many as 200,0000 nuclear weapons, or about 8 1/2 times the world's current total of 23,360 warheads. I think at the end of this we're going to see some very specific, concrete actions that each nation is taking that will make the world a little bit safer."

How to you think Obama is handling the Gulf Spill

The president underscored his focus on the Gulf by abruptly canceling plans for a trip to Indonesia and Australia later this month. Addressing a crisis that threatens to undermine his presidency, Mr. Obama spoke for many Thursday in declaring himself furious at a situation that "is imperiling an entire way of life and an entire region for potentially years." Friday's trip will be his second to the Gulf in eight days, answering critics in both parties who suggest he has seemed detached from the crisis.

"I would love to just spend a lot of my time venting and yelling at people," the president said, "but that's not the job I was hired to do. My job is to solve this problem."
